Medical Transcriptionists use a computer and their favorite word processor to transcribe dictation given by doctors into a typed document. These typed documents either in hardcopy or softcopy are then forwarded to the health care providers (dictator/doctors) for verification and approval. After approval these signed documents become part of a patient's permanent medical record and the doctors pay transcriptionists per line (65 words) of the typed documents.
